When to opt for grounded research theory and when not?

Grounded theory uses inductive reasoning and assumes that the theory is embedded in the data. Unlike other methods, it will never develop a hypothesis beforehand. In fact, it would start with observation, finding patterns, developing a tentative hypothesis and then introducing a theory.

Performing a qualitative analysis is complicated and having to choose between the various options is even trickier.

When in a dilemma whether to use a grounded theory or not, just keep the following things in your mind.

You should opt for Grounded Theory when,
